New Orleans and Beignets

I have been exploring New Orleans today. I took a long run through New Orleans' famous Audubon Park and also ran along the Mississippi River. Afterward, my new teacher friends- Ms. Larson and Ms. Lee-and I took a Street Car to the city center. The street car is very different than the metro! It runs REALLY slow. We walked around the New Orleans famous downtown known as the French Quarter. We heard a lot of jazz music , saw a lot of street art and ate the famous beignets ( or french doughnuts!) at Cafe DuMonde. Here is a math problem for you. There were six beignets. Ms Larson and I had the same amount and Ms. Lee had a different amount. How many beignets did I have? ( Hint: They can easily be cut in half.)

Hi Mrs. Lombardi,
We read your post this morning during our morning meeting. Here are some questions for you.
Have you seen a snake?
Have you seen any different caterpillars than the ones we looked at on Friday?
Are you having fun?
We hope you are having a great time. Have a great day.
Love,
Mrs. Ortiz's Class

Hi Ms. Lombardi,
Hope that you are having a great time so far in Louisiana. We came up with 5 different possibilities of how many beignets you ate!

- Ms. Larson and Ms. Lombardi had 2.5 each and Ms. Lee had 1
-Ms. Larson and Ms. Lombardi had 3 each and Ms. Lee had 0
-Ms. Larson and Ms. Lombardi had 1.5 each and Ms. Lee had 3
-Ms. Larson and Ms. Lombardi had .5 each and Ms. Lee had 5
-Ms. Larson and Ms. Lombardi had 1 each and Ms. Lee had 4

Hi Everyone
I will post some pictures of my beignets. Just look back at yesterday's post to see some pictures. Your first guess was right- I had 2.5! They were DELICIOUS! I am now at the bunkhouse in Slidell, Louisiana. We went out to the field today to "hunt" caterpillars. Check out my new post!

I was the one who said that you and Ms. Larson had 2.5 and ms. Lee had 1. I was right! I remember when I went to New Orleans, I also had a beignet at cafe Dumond. Just when I was walking around town there was a bunch of jazz music playing and when you turned every corner there was street art. I rode a street car to Magazine St. It was pretty slow as a matter of fact. When I was there, we went to the Aquarium, and also we went to see a Mardi Gras exhibit. I got to see all of the floats that they've used over the years. It was very cool.
I can't wait to hear all about your adventure!
I know you'll have so much fun looking for caterpillars.
Good Luck!!
-Bailey
P.S. I know what you mean by DELICIOUS!! They were so good and had piles of powdered sugar on them.
